Welcome to Interpria. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our platform, including our website, dashboards, and services (“Services”). By creating an account, browsing, or using Interpria, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
1. General Terms (Applicable to All Users)
1.1 Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old, or have legal parental/guardian consent, to create an account or use the Services.
- You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information at all times.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account.
1.2 Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Use the platform for unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful activities
- Harass, threaten, or harm other users
- Attempt to bypass platform processes (including off-platform payments)
- Interfere with platform functionality through hacking, scraping, reverse engineering, or similar actions
Violation of these rules may result in account suspension or termination.
1.3 Payments and Fees
- All payments must be processed through Interpria’s approved payment methods. Direct payments outside the platform are strictly prohibited.
- Interpria charges Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters a 20% Platform Fee, calculated as a percentage of the total booking value plus any applicable taxes.
- Third-party payment provider - Stripe charges additional processing fees in accordance with their own policies. Interpria is not responsible for these third-party fees.
1.4 Tax Responsibility
- All prices displayed on Interpria are base prices and exclude any applicable taxes, unless otherwise expressly stated.
- Interpreters are solely responsible for determining, charging (if applicable), collecting, reporting, and remitting any taxes arising from the interpretation services they provide, including but not limited to income tax, sale tax, and any other applicable sales or value-added taxes.
- Interpria does not collect, remit, or assume responsibility for taxes on behalf of interpreters in respect of interpretation services and expressly disclaims any liability related to an interpreter’s tax compliance.
- For tax purposes, Interpria’s taxable supply is limited to its Platform Fee, on which any applicable taxes may be charged and collected by Interpria in accordance with applicable law.
1.5 Intellectual Property
- All platform content, designs, trademarks, and software are owned by Interpria or its licensors.
- You may not reproduce, distribute, or modify platform content without written permission.
1.6 Limitation of Liability
Interpria is not responsible for:
- The actions, performance, or behavior of Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters, visitors, or attractions
- Any personal injury, property damage, or incidents occurring during tours
- Lost income, indirect damages, or business interruptions
2. Role Clarification
2.1 Interpria
Interpria operates solely as a software platform that provides software infrastructure, discovery tools, and booking functionality to independent interpreters.
- Interpria is not a tour operator, nor does it provide tour services.
- Interpria does not employ Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters. It is not a party to any contract, agreement, or service provided between visitors, Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters, or attractions.
- In exchange for providing access to the platform and related software services, Interpria charges Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters a transaction-based Platform Fee.
2.2 Visitor
Visitors are end customers who book tour services provided by Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters through the Interpria platform.
- Visitors enter into a direct service relationship with the Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters.
2.3 Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters
Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters are independent providers and are
not employees or agents of Interpria. Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters are solely responsible for determining, registering, and complying with all applicable tax and reporting obligations related to the services you offer through Interpria.
Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters are independent service providers who offer tour services to visitors through the Interpria platform.
Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters are solely responsible for:
- Providing tour services to visitors.
- Setting their service rates
- Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters are solely responsible for determining, registering for, and complying with all applicable tax obligations (including income and sales taxes), permits, and local legal requirements.
3. Terms for Visitors (Users)
3.1 Booking
- All bookings are subject to interpreter availability and confirmation.
- You must review booking details carefully before confirming.
- You agree to meet the interpreter at the agreed time and place.
3.2 Visitor Responsibilities
- Provide accurate language requirements.
- Treat interpreters and attraction staff respectfully.
- Follow attraction rules and local laws during tours.
3.3 Safety and Insurance
- Visitors are solely responsible for their personal safety, health, and the security of their personal belongings at all times during tours.
- Tours are provided directly by independent interpreters. Interpria acts strictly as a platform and does not provide travel insurance, medical coverage, or liability insurance for any incidents, accidents, or losses occurring during a tour.
- Provision of insurance, if any, is at the sole discretion and responsibility of the individual interpreter. Visitors are strongly encouraged to obtain their own comprehensive travel and medical insurance prior to booking.
3.4 Visitor Cancellations & Refunds
Visitors may cancel their booking under the following conditions:
- Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time are eligible for a full refund.
- Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled start time are not eligible for a refund.
3.5 Minimum Visitor Requirements
If the minimum number of visitors is not met, the interpreter may cancel the session. In such cases:
- Cancellation at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time: visitors will receive a full refund.
- Cancellation within 24 hours of the scheduled start time: visitors will still receive a full refund and may leave a rating and review for the interpreter.
3.6 Interpreter No-Show Policy
If an interpreter fails to attend a confirmed session without reasonable explanation:
- Visitors should contact Interpria to request a full refund. Visitors also have the right to rate and leave a review.
- Interpria may take enforcement actions, including:
- Issuing a warning
- Temporarily or permanently suspending the interpreter’s account in serious or repeated cases
4. Terms for Interpreters
4.1 Requirements
To participate as an interpreter, you must:
- Provide truthful information about your background and expertise
- Submit valid identification or documents if requested
- Agree to maintain accurate availability in the platform
4.2 Independent Contractor Status
- Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters are independent providers and are not employees or agents of Interpria. Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters are solely responsible for determining, registering, and complying with all applicable tax and reporting obligations related to the services you offer through Interpria.
- Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters control how you deliver your services.
- Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters are solely responsible for determining, registering for, and complying with all applicable tax obligations (including income and sales taxes), permits, and local legal requirements.
4.3 Earnings & Payouts
- Stripe will display your service rates and any applicable Platform Fee.
- Payouts are processed on a scheduled basis through approved payment methods. You must provide accurate and complete payout information in order to receive funds.
- All prices shown on Interpria are treated as tax-exclusive service fees. Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters are responsible for calculating, reporting, and remitting the applicable taxes based on your earnings.
- Whether sales tax is charged, and whether input tax credits may be claimed, depends entirely on the interpreter's tax registration status. Interpria does not provide tax advice.
- Interpreters purchase platform services from Interpria and pay a Platform Fee. This Platform Fee may be subject to any applicable taxes. A receipt from Stripe will be issued to interpreters as proof of payment.
4.4 Conduct Standards
Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters must adhere to the following standards:
- Manage availability accurately and honor all confirmed bookings.
- Arrive on time for all scheduled bookings.
- Provide professional, respectful, and safe services to all visitors.
- Notify visitors and the platform as soon as possible if an emergency prevents attendance.
Failure to meet these standards may result in the forfeiture or reversal of earnings, as well as the suspension or permanent termination of the provider's Interpria account.
4.5 Profile Content
Interpria may review or remove profile content that is inaccurate, inappropriate, or misleading.
4.6 Interpreter Cancellations
Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters may cancel bookings under the following conditions:
- Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time: visitors will receive a full refund.
- Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled start time: visitors will receive a full refund and may leave a rating and review.
4.7 Minimum Visitor Requirements
If the minimum number of visitors is not met, the interpreter may cancel the session. In such cases:
- Cancellation at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time: visitors will receive a full refund.
- Cancellation within 24 hours of the scheduled start time: visitors will still receive a full refund and may leave a rating and review for the interpreter.
4.8 Interpreter No-Show Policy
If an interpreter fails to attend a confirmed session without reasonable explanation:
- Visitors should contact Interpria to request a full refund. Visitors also have the right to rate and leave a review.
- Interpria may take enforcement actions, including:
- Issuing a warning
- Temporarily or permanently suspending the interpreter’s account in serious or repeated cases
5. Terms for Attraction Managers
5.1 Access to the Attraction Dashboard
Attractions using our platform receive access to tools for:
- Managing interpreter permission
You agree to protect login credentials and ensure authorized use only.
5.2 Attraction Responsibilities
- Ensure the attraction environment is safe for visitors and Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters
- Communicate clearly regarding tour rules and expectations
- Respect visitor privacy and follow applicable laws.
5.3 Fees
- There is no upfront fee for using the platform.
5.4 Content and Data
Attractions may upload event schedules, guidelines, or promotional materials.
You agree that submitted content:
- Must be owned by you or licensed for your use
- Must not contain harmful or unlawful material
6. Dispute Resolution
6.1 Between Users
- Interpria is not responsible for any disputes that arise between visitors, Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters, or attractions.
- While Interpria may choose to assist with mediation in good faith, it is under no legal obligation to resolve disputes or enforce outcomes.
- Any formal dispute or claim must be submitted to Interpria within thirty (30) days of the incident. Interpria reserves the right to reject any disputes submitted after this period.
6.2 Platform-Level Disputes
Any dispute with Interpria must be submitted first through our support team for resolution.
7. Updates to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
