Interpria - Terms of Service

Last updated: July, 2026

Welcome to Interpria. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our platform, including our website, dashboards, and services (“Services”). By creating an account, browsing, or using Interpria, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

1. General Terms (Applicable to All Users)

1.1 Eligibility

(i)You must be at least 18 years old, or have legal parental/guardian consent, to create an account or use the Services. (ii)You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information at all times. (iii)You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account.

1.2 Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

(i)Use the platform for unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful activities. (ii)Harass, threaten, or harm other users. (iii)Attempt to bypass platform processes (including off-platform payments). (iv)Interfere with platform functionality through hacking, scraping, reverse engineering, or similar actions.

Violation of these rules may result in account suspension or termination.

1.3 Platform Exclusivity and Payments

Exclusivity Rule: All bookings and paid transactions must be processed entirely through Interpria's integrated software infrastructure and approved payment gateways (Stripe). Direct payments, cash transactions, or off-platform financial arrangements between Visitors and Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters are strictly prohibited.

Permitted Exceptions: This restriction does not apply to official attraction guides or heritage interpreters providing complimentary (free) tours, or tours explicitly included within the purchase price of an official attraction admission ticket, provided that no off-platform monetary exchange occurs between the Visitor and the Interpreter.

Interpria applies a modest 5% Platform Fee, calculated based on the total booking value (plus any applicable taxes). This fee directly supports server maintenance, data security, and platform operations.

Third-party payment provider - Stripe charges additional processing fees in accordance with their own policies. Interpria is not responsible for these third-party fees. To process a paid booking, the minimum transaction amount must be at least USD 0.50, aligned with Stripe's processing requirements.

1.4 Direct Payment Flow and Custody of Funds

Direct Financial Routing: Interpria operates strictly as a technology platform. All payments for tour services are routed directly from the Visitor to the independent Interpreter's connected payment account (Stripe). Interpria does not at any time take custody, possession, or ownership of tour funds, nor do these funds pass through Interpria's corporate bank accounts.

Technical Facilitation: While Interpria does not hold your money, you acknowledge and agree that Interpria's software infrastructure handles the technical processing commands, including triggering the automated setup intents, authorization holds, and final captures, on behalf of the parties to execute the transaction safely.

No Financial Liability: Because Interpria is not a financial custodian, it assumes no liability for failed bank transfers, processing delays by card networks, or direct financial losses resulting from the payment gateway's operations.

1.5 Payment Authorization, Holds, and Capture System

Interpria's software infrastructure automates the payment lifecycle to ensure financial security and fairness for both Visitors and Interpreters. By utilizing the platform, both parties agree to the following system-enforced processing flow:

Payment Method Verification: Upon requesting a booking, the Visitor authorizes Interpria's integrated payment gateways to securely store their payment method. No immediate charge is processed at this stage.

Pre-Authorization Hold: Approximately 3 days prior to the scheduled tour date, the platform's automated system will place a temporary authorization hold on the Visitor's designated payment method for the full booking value (including applicable platform fees and taxes). This hold secures the funds for the independent Interpreter.

Payment Recovery Process: If the automatic pre-authorization hold fails (around 3 days before your tour), Stripe will automatically send visitor a secure payment recovery email. Visitor will have the opportunity to update the payment details directly through that email.

Automated Cancellation: If a hold cannot be established by 24 hours prior to the scheduled tour time, the Interpria system will automatically cancel the booking. This protects our Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters from uncompensated time. Note: Interpria is not liable for bookings canceled due to expired, invalid, or declined payment methods. Please update the details promptly to secure the reservation!

Final Capture and Release: Approximately 24 hours following the successful completion of the tour, the system will automatically execute a final capture of the authorized funds, routing the payment to the Interpreter's connected account, less Interpria's Platform Fee.

Dispute Delays: If a formal dispute or service issue is submitted by the Visitor through the platform before the automated final capture occurs, the system will temporarily pause the capture mechanism. Funds will remain held pending discretionary mediation or direct resolution between the Visitor and the Interpreter.

1.6 Payment Mandate and Off-Session Authorization

By requesting a booking and saving your payment method on Interpria, you expressly grant Interpria and its integrated payment processors the permission to initiate payments and authorizations on your behalf.

Mandate Authorization: You authorize Interpria to securely store your payment credentials and to initiate a series of up to two (2) transactional actions per booking: (i)A Pre-Authorization Hold for the total booking amount, initiated approximately 3 days prior to the scheduled tour. (ii)A Final Capture of the funds, initiated approximately 24 hours after the scheduled tour completes.

Frequency: This authorization is granted on a per-booking basis (one-time use per scheduled tour) and is not a recurring monthly subscription.

Determination of Amount: The exact amount charged will be determined by the specific booking value selected by you at checkout.

Credential Detachment: Once the final capture is successfully executed or the booking is validly canceled, your payment method credentials for that specific transaction will be detached and will not be charged again without your fresh consent.

1.7 Platform Integrity and Prohibition of Direct Dashboard Manipulation

Exclusive System Control: To ensure data accuracy and transaction security, all bookings, cancellations, refunds, and payment captures must be processed exclusively through the Interpria software interface, otherwise you have to notice Interpria.

Prohibition of Direct Dashboard Actions: Interpreters are strictly prohibited from manually initiating captures, reversals, adjustments, or refunds directly within their independent Stripe Connect dashboards outside of Interpria's application logic.

Data Disruption and Fee Evasion: Any manual modification of funds via the payment processor that bypasses Interpria's software infrastructure, results in broken system records, or evades the Platform Fee constitutes a material breach of these Terms.

Penalties: Interpria reserves the right to retroactively adjust and collect any evaded Platform Fees, suspend booking functionalities, or permanently terminate the account of any Interpreter who alters transactions directly via their payment processor dashboard.

1.8 Tax Responsibility

All prices displayed on Interpria are base prices and exclude any applicable taxes, unless otherwise expressly stated.

Interpreters are solely responsible for determining, charging (if applicable), collecting, reporting, and remitting any taxes arising from the interpretation services they provide, including but not limited to income tax, sale tax, and any other applicable sales or value-added taxes.

Interpria does not collect, remit, or assume responsibility for taxes on behalf of interpreters in respect of interpretation services and expressly disclaims any liability related to an interpreter's tax compliance.

For tax purposes, Interpria's taxable supply is limited to its Platform Fee, on which any applicable taxes may be charged and collected by Interpria in accordance with applicable law.

1.9 Intellectual Property

All platform content, designs, trademarks, and software are owned by Interpria or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or modify platform content without written permission.

1.10 Limitation of Liability

Interpria is not responsible for:

(i)processing refunds, failed transactions, or any payment processing fees incurred by either party. (ii)The actions, performance, or behavior of Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters, visitors, or attractions. (iii)Any personal injury, property damage, or incidents occurring during tours. (iv)Lost income, indirect damages, or business interruptions.

1.11 Declaration of Cancellation and Refund Policies

Interpria provides a standardized, automated cancellation, refund, and no-show timeline within its software infrastructure. By booking through the platform, both Visitors and Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters agree to abide by these system-enforced timelines. While Interpria's software facilitates these automated rules, the final processing of funds remains subject to the direct payment setup between the parties, and Interpria assumes no liability for refund or no-show disputes.

1.12 Timezone Governance

All booking times, operational deadlines, cancellation windows, and system-enforced timelines are calculated strictly based on the local timezone of the booking tour location/attraction, and not the user's current local time or device timezone. It is the sole responsibility of both Visitors and Interpreters to account for timezone differences when managing bookings or initiating cancellations.

1.13 Notification Lifecycle and User Responsibility

Automated Expiration: To optimize platform performance and ensure data efficiency, all in-app notifications and system alerts generated by the Interpria software infrastructure are subject to an automated expiration policy. These messages will be permanently deleted from the user interface 28 days after issuance.

Obligation to Monitor: Users (both Visitors and Tour Guides and Heritage Interpreters) are solely responsible for actively monitoring their Interpria accounts and notifications. Interpria assumes no liability for missed deadlines, unread booking updates, or financial consequences resulting from a user's failure to read notifications before they expire.

1.14 Billing Policy

All platform fees, billing periods, invoices, statements, and settlement reports are calculated using Interpria Business Timezone - America/Toronto.
